How To Make Money Young
My thought process behind making money
Whenever someone hears about you they go “No way this guy’s made that much money while I’ve made none.”
That’s a nice feeling. And to get to that point is not the hardest thing in the world. You just need to figure out a plan. “How will I make the money” is the biggest question you’ll have. And fair enough, the business model is the vehicle.
So what business model did I use you may be asking. That does NOT matter, the business model is not what matters. What matters is Why you pick the business model.
The way that I landed on mine (which was home cleaning) mattered most on what I had. Like what skills do you have? How much money do you have. And who do you have access too? And maybe a few more lil questions but those are the essential questions.
Do you have a few bucks or thousands? What do you know, do you not know anything about anything, or do you have the essentials skills? In business it’s sales and marketing. Who do you know, are your parents rich, are your friends important or is everyone you know a nobody? I made a bit of a graph here too for you.
So based on who you know you either wanna start a business on your own, with a partner, or just work for someone else. I started off working for someone else, which was my first job in sales. And by the way, the greatest skill to learn is sales or marketing. Because In business it comes down to how many of the people you can sell based on how many you can get in front of.
And if you are gonna get a job it’s better to have your work making the money over the time you put in making the money for you.
If you know no one, but have some skills, start a one man business doing something inexpensive on your part and charge minimum wage, it’s better than working a dead end job where you get 0 experience.
Now I’ve Never been alone in business, I’ve always had a team. After doing sales for the summer of grade 10, the next summer I started my first business, which is the one I’m still doing now. I started with one extra person and scaled to more and more until I had a ten man team last year and this year I have a different approach, Instead of having a bunch of people or an ‘army’ I have few people, or ‘special forces’ It’s better to have 3 men doing 8 sales a day over, 10 people doing 15 sales a day.
If you know someone, work for them, they’ll teach you how they ran their business and the essentials that you need to know. Or read my posts :)
And if you know a few people (without a business) let them work with you and give them a percentage of the businesses earnings. It’s better to have 10 percent of a watermelon over 100% of a grape. The more of the pie you give away, the more you’re allowed to make.
What you know is NUTS, if you know A lot, then you are set up, if you know nothing, then you get a big runway.
Essentially, I knew nothing starting out so I worked for someone else to learn as much as I could. The greatest thing is what you know, the difference between us and Elon Musk as well as the most re—— stupidest person ever is what we know. So focus on always learning more, via, expierience over everything. Videos and reading is a second great way. And also finding mentors.
If you know a little bit about business, you wanna work with someone who knows a little bit about some other aspect of business, be it sales, marketing, or offer creation. And you wanna know a little about the other(s).
The best way to find a job that will teach you about, Sales, Marketing, or Offer creation is though someone who will let you directly experience one of those, so dm people, apply to jobs and send your application or resume to jobs with roles based directly on letting you work on one of those.
And lastly Money. How much do you have? Are you broke? Did you work over the summer, are you working rn on the side? Or are you parents LOADED.
If you have no money, it makes sense to work for someone else to get some experience aswell as getting money for the work so you can set yourself up for the future.
If you’re someone with money it’ll make sense to start working for yourself by providing a service where you can afford the startup cost and it’ll let you directly experience starting a business and dealing with custies.
And if you are loaded it makes the most sense start a business and hiring your boy (or gals) and going into business for yourselves and instead of splitting the pie, you may be able to just eat the pie and take 100% of the risk by paying salaries.
I was not loaded, I had good experience in sales and leadership and knew maybe a few people so I went with the business route. I found a service and asked my friends to help sell and fulfill the orders while splitting the pie.
Depending on where you are, that’s my recommendation. And I know you want to be a millionaire right now but you should focus on building the foundation. And the only way to do that is by having a longterm vision.
So focus on what you can for today and build for the longterm, I’d rater see you win Really big next year than win today and lose it next year.
And you do that based on
People you know
Your skill set
The money you have
As a next step to being closer to your financial goal, see where you fit, and take the action to get where you wanna be.
Thank you for reading and keep winning :)
