Why You Get What You DON'T Want

Why do we Always Experience the Opposite of what we Want?

You Get The Complete Opposite Of What You Want In Life.

Why do we so often experience the thing we didn’t want to? For example, you don’t want to see someone, who do you see an hour later? We don’t want to fail our test, what do you see when the results come in? The reason is that we focus on the negative aspect of thought(what we don’t want) over the positive (what we do want.)

Why?

Even if there’s more weight on the positive, the negative will have its way because negativity is stronger, why? It’s evolutionary, negative is contributed to feelings like fear, hunger, danger, etc. Essentially feelings that were linked to the need to survive. There wasn’t too much good going on back in the caveman days. And this stuck, the over emphasis on the bad in our life. Be honest, what strikes your mind more often, a good moment in the day like a compliment, or a bad moment like an inconvenience?

How To Get What You Want

Our actions alone don’t decide the outcome of life, our thoughts play a bigger momentary and long term consequence than action. You must see yourself as being someone having or accomplishing what you want. Think of it as ‘we get what we are, not want.’ You can’t trick yourself either, you must truly believe that you are worthy and be able to experience it without it being materialized.

This is nearly impossible for most because they don’t know enough, have experienced enough and/or have an ego. Contrary to popular belief, an ego is important in life. You need to level up in these three areas to be what you want.

  1. Knowledge, everything we know comes from other people. The person or source of info that taught me the most in terms of running my business and business in general is my mentor. Everyone should have a few people in their lives who have achieved more than you have so far and who you can gain some knowhow from. You either give back in return via some value you provide for them (money, work, etc) or you give them the opportunity to feel charitable and giving. In person events is a big contributor too, there is always a speaker there who knows more than you one the topic they’re talking about it’s good to surround yourself with other like minded people who are also trying to achieve their goals and get what they see themselves as. Online is probably everyones go to method in the beginning and for good reason. Either by courses or just watching content, reading, etc. Of course there’s a lot of frauds who just want your money or attention but there’s others who give value and that’s who you should look out for. Honourable mention, reading.

  2. Experience, this eventually ties into ego but in the beginning experience is the personal knowhow that you put to use in different areas of life like business, health, etc. We want to build new in our life that takes place in the moment and that keeps going, we need to build disciplinary tasks for ourselves and commit ourselves to help build a sense of self while building more life experience. Start with doing basics, like going to the gym, reading every day, meditating, etc.

  3. Ego, is what made me top earner. My sense of self and the standard I hold every one of my actions too comes from my ego, who I am. This is going to get built through your achievements. In the beginning you wont have many things to be proud of, I didn’t either and that’s ok. Of course you have somethings to be proud of in your life if you look back in time. And you want to start building yourself in bigger ways as you move on. Like getting a job or getting a better job, starting a business, etc. This comes after some early experience and has a snowball affect after the first few wins.

After you’ve built the knowledge, experience and personal track record, you’ll no longer to lie to yourself to be what you want. And instead truly believe in what you say you will get and what the goals that you want to achieve are.

Thank you for reading till the end, I genuinely appreciate that you enjoy and got value out of my writing, if you want to see my other writing or videos you can. And have a good one.
