The Skill Sets That Took Me To $50K In One Summer

Skills you should learn to have a better business

Grade 11 summer was when I started my business and during that time, I made 50K. And of course the business model itself, tactics, what I sold, etc were all helpful but the most important thing was what I knew, as in my decision making, principles and lessons, etc and I picked all these up throughout sales, my mentor and from starting small at first.

The first mental belief I had was that anything is possible, whether it happens tomorrow or it takes 5 years, it will happen and it’s fully based on your effort, wit and essentially how hard you work. The beauty of it is that you get full control over the inputs. And input = output. I barely passed science last year, like literally barely but that was a big take away from that class.

And with the goal you wanna hit, it’s ok if it doesn’t go your way, there’s a million different ways to make a million $. You just need to know that you can.

Did you know that there’s over 60 million millionaires! Do you genuinely think that they are all smarter, better and harder working than you? NO! If you genuinely believe that they are better than you I will come out of this fu**ing screen and slap that bs out of you.

Please do not make any excuses as to why someone has more than you or why you can’t make it in life. That is thinking with your emotional brain, aka your monkey brain. Take a more logical approach to it, ok this guy has this, how do I get it?

One thing is too, notice how all successful people have others around them, a team. So please ditch this lone wolf sigma male mindset and work with others. It’s better to have 1% of a watermelon than 100% of a grape.

The reason I was also able to work so hard, long and keep growing over the summer was because of my team, if it weren’t for being responsible over a bunch of people’s pay, I would have worked 10x less and made maybe 5k.

And the beauty of this is that you don’t need to be the boss or leader, I just am because I like it and it’s a big part of my goal. But you also get the same motivation and drive from being apart of the team, and you don’t deal with as much stress or risk.

It’s just more encouraging to be around like minded people working together towards a specific goal. And if you don’t have one in real life or want another one you can join my discord where you talk money, and goals with me and the others in there.

That’s part of the reason why most never succeed, they

  1. Have the wrong people around them

  2. Are too comfy with their situation.

Especially your family but usually the real ones aren’t holding you back because they don’t wanna see you win but because they wanna see you lose. Some times we have “friends” who are only there to have fun and they don’t wanna get better in life, those are the ones you need to cut off.

How you go about it, appreciate and thank your family and friends for their genuine input but keep going. And with the fake friends you need to just cut em off— I have another post on this if you wanna read it.

And the reason why some are just comfy is because they like the idea of being able to make excuses because it’s easier than actually doing the work and you’re just constantly feeding cheap dopamines and have become ok with the idea of average. Playing video games, going out with girls, scrolling, etc. This comes from only thinking about the moment.

My mentor told me this once— “Once your business takes off, and you’re over all more successful, that’s when all the women just throw themselves onto you and you can genuinely indulge in pleasures without worry of the money.” And I agree, it’s a lot nicer to drive a M5 5 years from now over an old 550i bmw with 150k km. Same with going out with some girl who you wouldn’t marry but is fun for today instead of waiting to find someone who is wife material 5 years from today.

So incorporate a longer term thinking process and have your eyes set on the grander things to work towards and be able to have 10 years from now. And not the knock offs you can get today.

And lastly never stop learning— Again I have a mentor who without I would not have succeeded in business, and quite honestly, been nothing without. If you can’t learn from anyone in real life, learn from those online.

He wasn’t available all the time so in my free time I would just watch educational videos like this and courses from others too, like mine which goes deeper on the skills and lessons that serve me in business. Go buy it please.

To recap

  • Don’t believe you can do it, know you can do it

  • Be around others

  • Think longterm

  • Never stop learning
